Site Survey
Established in 1999, Under the Sun has been instrumental in the installation of over 80 Solar Electric systems on Martha's Vineyard. Now a collaboration of Kate Warner, Lawrence Schubert & Martha's Vineyard Electricians, Inc., Under the Sun provides all the services necessary for a completed system.
Kate Warner began the business and was nominated as American Solar Energy Society “Solar Woman of the Year” in 2004 by the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative. Lawrence Schubert and Martha's Vineyard Electricians, Inc. have been working with Under the Sun since 2003 and have been involved in the majority of the installations.
Services provided include:
an initial site survey to determine the appropriateness of the site for solar and to discuss ways to improve the home's energy performance;
electrical assistance to make the home more energy-efficient;
the preparation and submittal of applications for:
solar rebates
and interconnection to the utility grid;
design of systems and procurement of equipment;
coordination of work by licensed rack installers and electricians;
completion of paperwork to finalize the installation;
instruction on how to keep track of your system's production and maintain it
